Journalism
Moore began his career in journalism in 1978 specialising in the built environment writing about architecture, building, construction and commercial property. His time as a journalist included positions as reporter, news editor, deputy editor and editor at Building Magazine, Middle East Construction Magazine and Chartered Quantity Surveyor (CQS). When he was editor of CQS, Moore was the first journalist in either the technical or mainstream press to criticise Prince Charles’s views on architecture. He suffered the fate of many forward-thinking iconoclasts, and was duly sacked.
For the last 30 years Moore has been reporting for MIPIM News, the daily magazine that accompanies Marche Internationale Des Professionels de l’Immobilier, the leading international commercial real estate event that takes places in Cannes in March each year. He is the longest-serving member of the editorial team and has been involved in over 150 issues of the publication to date.
Moore has also edited a number of important reference books acting as a consultant on Shopping Environments: Evolution, Planning & Design.
Since 2015 he has sat on the editorial board of The Old Oundelian (OO), the annual publication for alumni from Oundle, one of Britain’s leading co-educational boarding schools. Mark also writes a series of interviews with school alumni for The OO Magazine.
